Pollachi to Valparai

Hey Guys, this is vinoth, me and my friends have visited pollachi-topslip-valpari recently, so i want to share my experience  :)

1. About Travels:
2. Stay
3. Place to see

First lets talk about travels:

Its best if you have your own vehicle, but be sure you have a stepny along with it. It doesn't mean roads are bad, just for safey coz most these breaks kills time and enjoyment.

If you have to hire a private travels, usually they will charge 4-6k for covering valparai-pollachi. I dont have any specific travels details to share. they will not charge per litre cost.

Air conditionered vehicle is not needed, enjoy the natural cool temperature, which is lovely, pure and free to pollution.

Starting from pollachi towards valparai there are many places to see:
Aliyar Dam Back View:

This is one of the best view of aliyar dam, but this place is not known to many people, only local travellers will know this place, if you are travelling by our known,  you can enquire from any one from pollachi, it is almost 6km from centre of pollachi. best season is may-july and sep-jan.

This season there is not much rains in 2012, so the place looks lil dull without water, otherewise you cannot see any green land.

Aliyar Dam Front View:
This is the actual tourist place of aliyar dam, you will get a another view from this place, good to have a walk here :) with couple or with group of friends is up to you :)

Monkey Falls:
Here comes a small waterfalls, from the name you can guess the importance of this place, yes there will be lot of monkeys in this place, please care of your things, lock you vehicle and dont carry any eatable along with you, near the waterfall. Its very slippery, so note ur every step carefully. the water will be very clean and good. I have got comments from others that, very rarely water will be coming in this falls, but luckily there was a raining in that previous week, please check the weathere condition before you plan for this place.

Road Travel towards Valparai:
A beautiful place to travel, this will be very interesting for those who lives in cities. because in cities people rarely sees trees near the road or near by residential area.
Its completely GO GREEN, full of trees on both sides of the road. go slow and enjoy the nature scene. Try tender coconut, its best taste for your money, pollachi is famous for tender coconut.

Shollayar Dam:
This is one of the biggest dam in india, visit this place, and there is a small  boating available, but only VIP's or those who are infuence from government officers are allowed.

Valparai:
Valparai is a hilly region, a border view between tamilnadu and kerala. from pollachi it will  take maximum of 3 hours journey. It has 40 hairpin bends on one side. mostly on many bends you will have lovely views. Roads are very good, newly built, but drive slowly, its advicable to travell in day light instead of night.

Suicide point in 9th hairpen bend:
This is just a sight seein point, nothing else, often there will be police in this place, you have get a good profile pic for your FB or linked in.

This a paranomic view of suicide point

At tea estate:
After 40 Hairpen bends, waiting for a normal landscape to take a long breath. Best place to Chill out, stay as much you can here.

A best place for photo lovers, a lot to try new different shots, SLR can make better shots.

Check out valparai hairpen bends in early morning, there will be lots of mist on the road way. cant describe much, every place is a sight seeing point. Feel it and enjoy it.

Take a Bath:
This is another lovely place near Aliyar dam, this a running water from aliyar dam,  try taking bath at this point, depth almost 5feet high at some places and 2 feet depth at overall places. Nice to walk in the running path.

TopSlip:
Travelling towards topslip, make sure you are not littering any placstics thing outside, if you do so and caught you have to pay fine 5000rs :)

The road in the forest will be bad, but interesting to see the environment. if you are luckily we can see any animals in the forest. hmm then good to see big bamboo trees.

After reaching a certain point, entry will be restricted, After this point only government vehicle are allowed to have a jungle trip. those who are interested to go parambikulam can take their own vehicle beyond this point.

At parambikulam you have to book the accomodation before a week or so. All are cottages a bit costly starting from 3k to 8k per day. there is no power inside the forest after 6, its up to you, how you enjoy there.

Finally the day has ended with a temple. The journey was too good, Me and my friends 7of them from my college had a great day after long time.

A must place to see in tamilnadu. :)
